Do you need your password?! -
Registered users of Famtree v4.30 and later versions
will NOT need to re-input their passwords to enable version 4.43, but users
of versions earlier than 4.30 will need their password to activate
version 4.43 - so, if you have mislaid your password, please
to be reminded of it, BEFORE
downloading the upgrade.

Click on a download link below.

If using Internet Explorer, click on 'Save' in the browser download dialog
which appears

Select and note the name of the folder into which you are downloading, and
click on 'Save' (make sure the 'close this dialog box when download
completes' box is NOT ticked)

If you are using Internet Explorer then, when the download is complete, just
click on the 'Open' button to start the installation process.

Alternatively, if you are using a browser which does not allow you to directly
run a downloaded file, use 'My Computer' or 'Windows Explorer' to locate
the downloaded file (famtz443.exe or famtzi443.exe) in the folder name you
have noted, and double click its name to start the installation process.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the unzipping and installation
process - the default settings will install the Famtree program, the Famtree
Manual, and some example files in a folder called Program Files/Famtree v4,
and place a Famtree icon in your Programs list. (Note - Some
Windows 98 users may see an instruction that some system files need upgrading;
this is normal - just follow the instructions about re-booting; however,
if this happens continuously, then you have a program, such as a scanner,
running in the background, which is interfering with the process; just close
that program down, and re-start the installation process).
